- How can a funder join OpenAIRE in order to get a MONITOR dashboard?

- I'm lost: what is the relation between the OpenAIRE Graph and MONITOR? What does the OpenAIRE Graph show? Where can I find it?
The OpenAIRE Graph is an open resource that aggregates a collection of research data properties (metadata, links) available within the OpenAIRE Open Science infrastructure for funders, organisations, researchers, research communities and publishers to interlink information by using a semantic graph database approach.
OpenAIRE’s MONITOR service provides metrics/statistics/indicators based on the Graph. - What do I do if the data sources are linked to the wrong organisation?
You contact us and report the problem. We investigate, identify the latter and finally take action to fix it.
- I have changed the configuration to identify the research products of my research initiative, but nothing changed in the list of results and in the indicators. Is this normal?
Yes, it is normal. Your choices are not applied in real-time. They are applied every time the OpenAIRE Graph is updated (roughly every month).
- How can I get detailed information regarding funded projects?
By visiting the page of your organisation at OpenAIRE EXPLORE and selecting the Funding / Projects tab. You can see an example for University of Minho. You can find your organisation by searching via its name at the OpenAIRE EXPLORE.
- When looking for my institution, I find several organisations (none of which have a correct affiliation name) - how are these named variants retrieved/managed?
You can perform the disambiguation of your organisation (de-duplicate multiple names, identify parent-child relationships) using the OpenOrgs service. Then, following the scheduled workflows of OpenAIRE's internal procedures, your edits become available in due time to the OpenAIRE Graph and to all OpenAIRE's services.
- How does OpenOrgs relate to ROR?
OpenOrgs collects and keep all the identifiers of an organisation in the merged record and thus in the OpenAIRE Graph.
- I have changed the configuration to identify the research products of my organisation, but nothing changed in the list of results and in the indicators. Is this normal?
Yes, it is normal. Your choices are not applied in real-time. They are applied every time the OpenAIRE Graph is updated (roughly every month).
- The invitation link to register as a dashboard manager/member you sent me does not work. Why?
Ensure that you have logged into OpenAIRE first using your institutional account via eduGAIN. In the rare case that your institution does not support AAI via eduGAIN you can use some of the other options (eg. login via ORCID) or create an account at OpenAIRE with your institutional email at OpenAIRE. Since you are signed in, you can click on the activation link in the email you received. The link does not work if the invitation email and your institutional email or the one with which you created your OpenAIRE account differ. In that case, please email support to identify and address the issue and if needed send you a new link to the proper email address.
- How do I add a new user (manager/member) in the dashboard?
Supposed that you have already been registered as a dashboard manager of your institution, after you login at the OpenAIRE MONITOR, you select "Browse Dashboards" from the top menu and then select "MANAGE" where you will find your institution to access the administrator Dashboard. From there, you select "Users" from the menu at the left and you can then add managers or members by inviting them via email, which provides guidance on how to accept the invitation and connect to the institutional dashboard.
- Can I download the metadata of the records included in a chart?
No, this is not possible. You can browse the records of your institution used in the OpenAIRE MONITOR service by selecting "Browse data" from the top menu. Additionally, you can download the processed data on which the chart is built upon.
- Can I hide a chart? What is the difference between “Restricted” and “Private” modes?
Yes, managers can access the administration dashboard and modify the visibility of each chart to public, restricted or private. Restricted charts are visible to dashboard “members”, private charts are visible only to managers, and public charts are visible to everyone. Managers can also modify the visibility of the entire organisation and for each topic/subtopic in the dashboard. When updating visibility settings, you can use the top right “PREVIEW” button on the administration dashboard to verify how your dashboard will appear to different users by selecting either Public or Restricted (pre)view.
